The VIN is on the driver's door sticker, the bottom corner of the windscreen, and your insurance card. It is sent to NHTSA (the U.S. safety regulator) to look up – Drive DTC doesn't keep it.
A recall list is the easy half
Recalls are what the maker already admitted. Drive DTC plugs into the vehicle and tells you what it says: trouble codes in plain English, what usually causes them, what the repair costs, and whether it's safe to drive.
